REHEARSALS
Sunday, 1/24, 8-10, fitness center
Wednesday, 1/27, 10-12, fitness center
Friday, 1/29, 7-???, BBOX
Got it? Be there.
Bring your costumes, props, anything you need to practice your act. The rehearsal on Friday is a FULL DRESS REHEARSAL. I would suggest coming in a little earlier than 7PM so that we can be ready to start ASAP.
ALSO! On Sunday, please bring your music on a flash drive or CD so I can compile them on my computer into one playlist for Kel.
Also, if you have any SPECIFIC lighting cues you need (ie, a black out or spotlight), be prepared to specify those cues to Kel on Friday.

Gold Diggers of 1933
Gold Diggers of 1933 is playing tonight at 7:00pm and Thursday at 9:00pm at the Charles.
If anyone would like to go on Thursday, let me know!
A synopsis from the Charles Theater website: Second of the archetypal backstage musicals from Warners (it followed hard on the success of 42nd Street) which established the idiosyncratic geometrics of Busby Berkeley. Some semblance of a plot (songwriter Powell turns against his wealthy parents in wishing to marry chorus girl Keeler), and much Depression wisecracking from Blondell, MacMahon and Rogers; but most notable is the vulgar, absurd and wonderfully surreal Berkeley choreography. Great numbers: Ginger Rogers adorned in dollars singing 'We're in the Money'; young lovers interrupted by rain while 'Pettin' in the Park'; and on a strangely bleak note, the files of unemployed ex-servicemen during 'Remember My Forgotten Man'. Delirious and delightful.

orchid mei
A really great example of neo burlesque in the classic style. I loved how she used her clothing as props like Trixie suggested, extending what could be a very boring and clichéd evening gown strip to something very titallating. Just wanted to share with y'all.

YAY A SOUND PERSON
We got our fabulous old military burlesque friend Ingrid Schindall to run our sound for us!! Yay!! Now we just need someone to run spotlight!
Which reminds me -- if you have any special stage needs for your act, make sure you have that figured out by dress rehearsal so we can submit a list of cues for Kel. Spotlights, dimmed lights, blackouts (tiff's constellation act?), placement of curtains, etc.

final dress rehersal
Our dress rehearsal is scheduled for Friday, 1/29, 7:00PM. We will run through the whole show as if it was the real thang, costumes and all.
We're still looking for 1 person to do our spot light and 1 person to run our music cues. If you know ANYONE who may be willing to do this, let me know their contact info so I can ask them about it. These people will need to be at the final dress rehearsal on Friday so they can learn the cues. They will be welcome to come party with us after the show.
Our darling friends Maria and Steve have agreed to sell the tickets and work the door for us!
We also still need people to volunteer to help set up the chairs and risers and stage earlier on Friday. So far I have Katie and Cait. Kel said it should take about 2 hours for chairs and 2 hours for the stage, but I'm sure the more people we have the quicker it'll get done. If you aren't free all day, then post what times you are available that Friday and we will see what the best times are for everyone (I'm free after 3:45!)

Couple of thangs...
Dr. Sketchy's is looking for someone to model for them on Mon. Jan. 25! I'd do it, but I have class. They're interested in having one of us to help promote the show. So, come on, ladies! Step up!

Also, please post your prop list if you haven't yet.
AND... I have a black petticoat that I don't want. Does anyone need one for their act?
LOVE YOU,
hope breaks are going well!
